Mirena and Implanon

Mirena and Implanon

Mirena and Implanon are two types of contraception that are done by certified GPs only.

Mirena is an intra-uterine contraceptive device (IUCD), also known as an intra-uterine device (IUD). It releases a hormone directly into your uterus to prevent pregnancy. It is also widely used to treat heavy menstrual periods.

Implanon is a hormone contained implant that inserted and kept under the skin. Once inserted it stays for three years. Our GPs who are trained to do such procedure will educate you about the implant, insertion/removal procedure.

If you are a new patient, your GP will answer all your questions and will provide printed material for you to read at home.
